<\/p>

Among the emblematic destinations of the Fribourg mountains are the Gorges de la Jogne. This is explained by the fact that this journey can be carried out by a large audience and that the places are striking. In addition, the gorges offer a refreshing environment during the great heat of summer and it is not uncommon to meet whole families who take advantage of the place to grill there. On the other hand, it happens quite often that the path of the gorges is closed, either seasonally or following a heavy storm. It is therefore imperative to inquire before going there.<\/p>

From Broc, follow the Jaun road to fork on a small dead-end road starting just before the bridge over the Jogne. At the end of the road are a few parking places where one can leave its car. From the car park (and the traffic ban), one doesn’t have to walk very long to find oneself at the mouth of the gorges and it doesn’t take long to start serious things. Indeed, a first gallery, often wet, allows to cross the last lock of the gorge. A little further on, after leaving the gallery and changing direction, one crosses to the other bank on a long footbridge.<\/p>

From there, the path evolves for a good stretch on the right bank of the Jogne, facing impressive limestone walls. Arrived near a second rocky lock, the path once again crosses a short gallery before descending towards the river which is crossed on another footbridge. The climb, opposite, is steep and painful, but it does not take long to understand why one must climb so much: one must, in fact, overcome the height of the crown of the dam.<\/p>

The Alpine Panorama Trail crosses the dam and runs along the right bank of Lake Montsalvens, before crossing an arm of the lake on a suspension bridge. But in my case, I had followed the left bank of the lake to enter one end of the Mot\u00e9lon Valley. When one has gone part of the way in this valley, one joins the Pessot road which one then must follow for a while to go back on the other bank. One can thus reach the beautiful chapel of La Monse.<\/p>

From the Monse, the path descends towards the Jogne which is crossed near the Tzintre. Then just follow the Jaun road to reach the village of Charmey.<\/p>
