I had often gone for a hike in this sector of the Jura Vaudois, whether without snow, or in winter on snowshoes. But until then I had always started either from Bassins or from Saint-George. By consulting the map, I realized that starting from the heights of Marchissy could be an interesting option. In addition, the starting point is quite practical since a few parking places exist right next to the Marchissy forest center.<\/p>

So, I had planned to climb to Cr\u00eat de la Neuve from Marchissy. Unfortunately, since it had fallen quite a bit of snow above 1000m the previous days, I had not anticipated that I would need more time to do this hike, since I had to do the track. And since I hadn’t planned a substantial picnic, I had to shorten the hike.<\/p>

From the Marchissy car park, start by following a good forest road leading to a crossroads. One could follow this road to reach the chalet de la Pouilleuse, but it is more advantageous to take a forest path leading just below this chalet. Beyond the chalet, one reaches the road leading from Vaud to Les Chenevi\u00e8res and La Perroude de Vaud. One is then not obliged to follow this road, because some forest roads make it possible to cut the switchbacks of this one. The first forest path is shown on the map (the one that runs along a small pasture). Higher up, after the hairpin bend drew at 1115m, another path, not mentioned on the map, goes up to the right in the forest. It makes two bends and emerges at the Chenevi\u00e8res chalet, just below the path leading to the Pr\u00e9 des Fornets.<\/p>

Above the Chenevi\u00e8res chalet, I followed the path going to the right at the height of the fountain and which leads to Sur les Fornets. Arrived on the paved road and in the pastures, I crossed these in the direction of the Echadex. One then passes in front of a small refuge before crossing the hollow leading to the Echadex chalet. It was there that, given the time and the lack of a picnic, I decided to return to the starting point. For this, I followed the paved road to the shelter (with a viewpoint), to take the path down through the forest. Arrived on the road, I followed the paths to pass near the Pr\u00e9s de Joux and the Grillette. One then retrieves the Route des Montagnes not far from the starting point.<\/p>
