Les cartes topographiques sont pour moi non seulement un outil de planification, mais \u00e9galement un moyen de m\u2019\u00e9vader en imaginant comment certains endroits pourraient \u00eatre. Apr\u00e8s \u00eatre mont\u00e9 la Combe Gr\u00e8de il y a quelques ann\u00e9es, je me suis demand\u00e9 s\u2019il n\u2019y avait pas d\u2019autres entailles similaires le long du Vallon de Saint-Imier. C\u2019est ainsi que j\u2019avais, cet automne, d\u00e9couvert la ruine du Ch\u00e2teau d\u2019Ergu\u00ebl. Plus bas, il existe quelques autres combes, dont la Combe du Bez montant au Pont des Anabaptistes. Plus bas, on trouve une autre combe, ferm\u00e9e par la Porte des Enfers. \u00a0C\u2019est celle-l\u00e0, intrigu\u00e9 par le nom, que j\u2019avais d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019explorer. A propos du nom de Porte des Enfers, je penche pour une d\u00e9formation du nom de Porte des Envers. En effet, ce ruz donne acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des petites combes se trouvant \u00e0 l\u2019ubac de la montagne.<\/p>

Depuis la gare de Sonceboz-Sonbeval, doit suivre un bout de rive de la Suze. A cet effet, il faut passer de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la voie de chemin de fer. Donc, il faut faire bien attention \u00e0 ne pas rater la bifurcation. Apr\u00e8s \u00eatre pass\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019une prise d\u2019eau et d\u2019une station d\u2019\u00e9puration, on arrive \u00e0 ce que l\u2019on pourrait croire \u00eatre un cul de sac ferm\u00e9 par une barri\u00e8re. Il existe un bouton que l\u2019on peut actionner afin de pouvoir ouvrir la barri\u00e8re.<\/p>

Apr\u00e8s \u00eatre pass\u00e9 sous la bruyante Transjurane, on passe pr\u00e8s de la M\u00e9tairie de Nidau avant de s\u2019engager dans la combe. A mesure que l\u2019on monte, le bruit de la route s\u2019estompe. Et on ne tarde pas \u00e0 passer la Porte des Enfers\u00a0: deux \u00e9perons rocheux qui se font face. On arrive plus loin \u00e0 la Petite M\u00e9tairie de Nidau qui est un lieu tr\u00e8s isol\u00e9 situ\u00e9 dans une petite clairi\u00e8re. En consultant les cartes historiques, on constate que se trouvaient ici des p\u00e2turages presque joints avec ceux de La Steiner. L\u2019abandon de l\u2019activit\u00e9 pastorale a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la reprise de la for\u00eat sur les pr\u00e9s.<\/p>

En suivant une bonne route foresti\u00e8re par endroit tr\u00e8s raide, on rejoint bient\u00f4t les p\u00e2turages du Graben. Plus loin, on atteint la route permettant de rejoindre le Pont des Anabaptistes depuis les Pr\u00e9s d\u2019Orvin. On doit suivre cette route au-del\u00e0 de la M\u00e9tairie de Gl\u00e9resse. Apr\u00e8s ce chalet, un bon chemin permet de rejoindre la cr\u00eate. Comme je voulais profiter un peu de la vue, je ne suis pas pass\u00e9 par la M\u00e9tairie d\u2019Evilard, mais j\u2019ai pouss\u00e9 un peu plus loin pour emprunter le sentier qui passe par la Combatte.<\/p>

En-dessous des Pr\u00e9s d\u2019Orvin, on traverse une route assez fr\u00e9quent\u00e9e pour suivre le chemin menant au restaurant de la Bragarde. Derri\u00e8re celui-ci, un sentier descend \u00e0 travers bois pour atteindre le fond du vallon dans lequel coule l\u2019Orvine. Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9pass\u00e9 la Vauch\u00e9e, on doit encore monter une pente assez raide afin de rejoindre la Fin du Monde. Que de souvenirs j\u2019ai de cet endroit, puisque j\u2019avais \u00e9t\u00e9 souvent m\u2019entra\u00eener sur la piste d\u2019athl\u00e9tisme.<\/p>

Arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 la gare d\u2019arriv\u00e9e du funiculaire, j\u2019ai eu la mauvaise surprise de constater que celui-ci ne fonctionnait pas par suite d\u2019un probl\u00e8me technique. J\u2019ai donc d\u00fb emprunter un bus et le funiculaire d\u2019Evilard. Malgr\u00e9 la frustration, je suis tr\u00e8s content d\u2019avoir d\u00fb effectuer cette variante. En effet, juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la gare de d\u00e9part du funiculaire d\u2019Evilard se trouve la Source des Romains. On pr\u00e9tend que c\u2019est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette source que Bienne a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e.<\/p>
