<\/p>

Als wir mit meinen Eltern nach Engelberg fuhren, folgten wir oft der Strasse durch Emmental und Entlebuch. Dadurch hatten wir die M\u00f6glichkeit, bei Bedarf in einem der Restaurants, die wir entlang der Strasse fanden, einkehren zu k\u00f6nnen. So machten wir oft Halt beim Restaurant Bahnhof in Trubschachen, das 2010 leider geschlossen wurde. Ich erinnere mich, dass im Speisesaal ein schwarz-weisses Plakat mit den drei ber\u00fchmten Berner Gipfeln (Eiger, M\u00f6nch und Jungfrau) hing und im Bild vorne war ein sehr langgestreckter Berg mit einer sehr steilen Wand. Den Namen dieses Gebirges kannte ich damals noch nicht und erst viel sp\u00e4ter erfuhr ich, dass es sich um den Hohgant handelte. Mehrmals hatte ich mich ihm gen\u00e4hert, ohne einen genaueren Blick darauf werfen zu k\u00f6nnen. Als ich 2017 am Fusse dieses Berges in Eriz war, fragte ich mich, ob die Steilwand leicht zu erklimmen w\u00e4re. Erst als ich die topografische Karte nachgeschlagen hatte, wurde mir klar, dass es mehrere Wanderwege gab.<\/p>

Dann beschlossen wir, die Chrinde, einen Trichter oberhalb der Oberen Breitwang, hinaufzusteigen, um den Westgipfel des Hohgant zu besteigen. Zudem hatten wir damit gerechnet, dass die Aussicht vom Westgipfel aus nicht ganz breit sein w\u00fcrde und wir den weiter \u00f6stlich gelegenen Nachbargipfel mit 2070 m H\u00f6he erklimmen m\u00fcssten.<\/p>

Von Eriz aus f\u00fchrt ein guter Weg \u00fcber den H\u00f6henr\u00fccken zwischen Chaltbach und Fallbach hinauf zur Fahrbahn, die zum Unteren und Oberen Breitwang f\u00fchrt. Von dieser letzten H\u00fctte aus beginnt es ernst zu werden. Der Hang wird immer steiler, um die Weide zu erklimmen, bevor er fast flach nach links geht. Einige Stellen bieten keine Probleme, erfordern jedoch Wachsamkeit und sollten bei Unwettern vermieden werden. Nach der Querung steigt der Weg weiter steil an und erklimmt einige Felsen, auf denen man mit den H\u00e4nden Gleichgewicht suchen muss. Wir empfehlen ihnen, die steilen Grash\u00e4nge der B\u00e4nder genau zu beobachten: Dort k\u00f6nnen sie oft Tiere beobachten.<\/p>

Im Talkessel angekommen biegt der Weg nach links ab, um den breiten Bergr\u00fccken zu erreichen. Dort finden wir den anderen offiziell markierten Weg, der vom anderen Trichter kommt. Folgt man dem Grat, dauert es nicht lange, bis man den Rand des Westgipfels erreicht. Anschliessend k\u00f6nnen sie einem guten Weg entlang des restlichen Grats folgen. In der N\u00e4he des Gipfels auf 2070 m angekommen, lohnt es sich, die Flanke zu queren, um diesen Gipfel von Osten her besteigen zu k\u00f6nnen. Diese Route ist einfacher.<\/p>

Wir hatten uns richtig entschieden, diesen Gipfel zu besteigen, denn dann genossen wir einen herrlichen Ausblick auf die Entlebucher Bergwelt: Beichle und Schrattenflue. Vom Westgipfel h\u00e4tte man keine so weite Sicht.<\/p>

Auf dem R\u00fcckweg und vor dem Gr\u00fceneberg hatten wir beschlossen, das Trogenhorn zu besteigen. Um den Fuss entlang des Grates zu erreichen, erwartete uns eine kleine \u00dcberraschung: Man muss eine Felsrinne hinuntersteigen, die gl\u00fccklicherweise mit Leitern ausgestattet ist. Die Rinne w\u00e4re zwar ohne Leitern begehbar, allerdings k\u00f6nnte der Abstieg je nach Bodenfeuchtigkeit sehr unangenehm werden.<\/p>

Am Fusse des Trogenhorns folgten wir mehr oder weniger dem Ost Grat. Es gibt eine kurze Leiter zu erklettern. Weiter oben ist die ideale Route nicht immer einfach zu finden: Der Gipfel besteht aus einem Haufen grosser Bl\u00f6cke, durch die es nicht immer einfach zu queren ist. Gl\u00fccklicherweise besteht das Gestein, aus dem sie bestehen, aus sehr griffigem Hohgant-Sandstein.<\/p>

Nach dem kurzen Abstieg vom Trogenhorn folgten wir dem Weg entlang des Arnigrats hinunter. Flache Passagen wechseln sich mit recht steilen H\u00e4ngen ab, bei denen es nicht immer leicht ist, die beste Route zu finden. Gl\u00fccklicherweise ist dieser Abschnitt kurz und es dauert nicht lange, bis man die Arni-Alp erreicht, wo man einen guten Weg findet.<\/p>

Von Gr\u00fcenenberg aus erwartete uns eine kleine \u00dcberraschung: Um zur Hinter-Sohl-H\u00fctte zu gelangen, m\u00fcssten wir ein paar H\u00f6henmeter hinaufsteigen.<\/p>
