Da die Z\u00fcge zwischen der Reuchenette und Biel zu dieser Zeit nicht mehr verkehrten, dachten wir uns, dass es vielleicht vorteilhaft w\u00e4re, die Suze entlangzugehen und die Taubenloch-Schlucht zu durchqueren. Denn dieser Teil des Tals ist spektakul\u00e4r. Einziger Schatten ist das riesige Zementwerk in der N\u00e4he der Reuchenette. Der Fussweg ist jedoch so gestaltet, dass er durch die Umwelt nicht \u00fcberm\u00e4ssig belastet wird.<\/p>

In der N\u00e4he von Rondch\u00e2tel kamen wir an einem Lagerhaus vorbei, vor dem wir F\u00e4sser voller merkw\u00fcrdiger Kugeln in der Gr\u00f6sse von P\u00e9tanque-Kugeln gesehen hatten. Es handelt sich um Stahlkugeln, die in Zementmahlwerk verwendet werden.<\/p>

Rondch\u00e2tel verdankt seinen Namen einem Schloss, das auf den \u00dcberresten einer r\u00f6mischen Festung auf dem H\u00fcgel \u00fcber der Schlucht erbaut wurde. Eine Sage \u00fcber den ehemaligen Schlossherrn liefert eine Erkl\u00e4rung f\u00fcr den Namen Taubenloch, denn dort hatte sich ein M\u00e4dchen aus der Region in die Sch\u00fcss gest\u00fcrzt, um den Qualen des Herrn zu entgehen. Der Name Taubenloch soll von dieser Sage stammen.<\/p>

Nach Rondch\u00e2tel folgt man dem neu angelegten Radweg, der es erm\u00f6glicht, von der stark befahrenen Strasse auszuweichen. Wegen der Arbeiten an der Bieler Autostrasse wird der Fussweg auf den Radweg umgeleitet. Mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit wird das auch in Zukunft so bleiben.<\/p>

In Friedliswart geht man an einer alten Fischzucht vorbei und beginnt den Weg durch die Schluchten. Diese sind anfangs recht breit, werden aber immer enger, je n\u00e4her man sich ihrem Ausgangspunkt n\u00e4hert. Kurz bevor man die ersten Bezirke von Biel erreicht, windet sich der Weg zwischen zwei senkrechten W\u00e4nden oberhalb der Sch\u00fcss.<\/p>

Am Ende der Schlucht kann man mit dem Bus zum Bahnhof fahren. Es lohnt sich aber, dem Ufer der Sch\u00fcss zu folgen, da die Umgebung sehr angenehm ist. Dabei kommt man an dem merkw\u00fcrdigen Swatch-Geb\u00e4ude vorbei, dessen gewundene Struktur aus einem Holzger\u00fcst besteht.<\/p>
