Die Schrattenfluh ist eine kleine, aber doch recht interessante Bergkette. Die Nordwestseite f\u00e4llt steil ab ins Emstal, w\u00e4hrend die S\u00fcdostseite aus einem gewaltigen, leicht geneigten Felsplateau besteht, das mit einem weltbekannten Karrenfeld durchsetzt ist. Wenn man von S\u00f6renberg aus aufsteigt, gelangt man relativ einfach auf den Grat. Die einzige Schwierigkeit sind die Umwege, die man um die Spalten und Abgr\u00fcnde machen muss. Der Grat selbst ist flach und nur der Schibeg\u00fctsch ragt deutlich daraus hervor. Dieser Gipfel, dessen Felswand schon von Weitem sichtbar ist, bildet die erste Erhebung der Schrattenfluh, direkt gegen\u00fcber vom Hohgant.<\/p>

Eine Sage erkl\u00e4rt die Entstehung des Karrenfeldplateaus. Wie so oft in Berglegenden sind die Ursachen f\u00fcr die Entstehung des Karrenfelds S\u00fcnden und Missetaten. Es wird erz\u00e4hlt, dass ein unredlicher Bauer eine wundersch\u00f6ne Tochter hatte, die nur denjenigen heiraten w\u00fcrde, der es schaffte, den Schibeg\u00fctsch zu besteigen. Viele Bewerber fanden so ein tragisches Ende.<\/p>

Die hier beschriebene Wanderung startet am Ende der Strasse, die von Waglisei aus in die Bergregion f\u00fchrt. Dort gibt es zwei Parkpl\u00e4tze, die aber im Sommer bei starkem Andrang sicherlich schnell voll werden. Vom Parkplatz aus folgt man einer teilweise recht steilen und unangenehmen, aber doch befahrbaren Alpstrasse. Da es sich um den Weg, der zur Chlush\u00fctte handelt, muss man ihn ein langer Abschnitt folgen.<\/p>

Von dieser H\u00fctte aus wird es ernst und man hat die Wahl, entweder der Alpinwanderweg (weiss-blau-weiss markiert) zu folgen oder den Bergwanderweg. In beiden F\u00e4llen ist es steil und man muss hier und da \u00fcber einige Felsstufen klettern. Wir haben uns f\u00fcr den Bergweg entschieden. Man gelangt so zu einem kleinen Sattel im Norden des Gipfels. Ab hier wird es etwas luftiger, da man nun auf dem Grat entlangl\u00e4uft. Leider hatten sich in unserem Fall Wolken gebildet, die den Nordwesten des Gebirgskamms verdeckten und so die Sicht auf Schangnau und Marbachegg verhinderten.<\/p>

F\u00fcr den Abstieg hatten wir eine kleine Alternative gew\u00e4hlt, die uns in der N\u00e4he des Fusses des T\u00fcrtsteh\u00e4uptli vorbeigef\u00fchrt hat, der wie ein auf der Kante liegender Block aussieht. Der Rest der Tour verlief wie beim Aufstieg, denn es bildeten sich immer mehr dicke Wolken, die auf ein Gewitter hindeuteten. Zum Gl\u00fcck hat es dann aber erst angefangen, als wir wieder in S\u00f6renberg waren.<\/p>
