Nous avions envie de monter la Combe Gr\u00e8de, mais en m\u00eame temps, nous avions envie de partir depuis les Savagni\u00e8res. C\u2019est pourquoi, nous avons commenc\u00e9 par monter en direction de la M\u00e9tairie des Pl\u00e2nes avant de descendre au fond de la combe en passant par l\u2019Ilsach. Ce faisant, on rejoint le milieu de la Combe Gr\u00e8de, au-dessus du premier verrou rocheux. On \u00e9vite aussi la premi\u00e8re partie de la combe, un peu moins spectaculaire que la deuxi\u00e8me.<\/p>

Apr\u00e8s une mont\u00e9e, raide par endroit, on se retrouve litt\u00e9ralement au pied du mur. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9chelle est tr\u00e8s courte et ne fait que surmonter une petite paroi. La seconde est un peu plus longue et permet, par la rive gauche, de gagner \u00e0 nouveau le fond de la combe. C\u2019est peu apr\u00e8s cet endroit que l\u2019on se trouve dans un cirque rocheux duquel on se demande comment on va r\u00e9ussir \u00e0 sortir. En fait, le sentier part sur la gauche pour monter par quelques lacets \u00e0 travers la pente raide. Un peu plus haut, alors que l\u2019on croit que l\u2019on va sortir de la Combe Gr\u00e8de, un dernier ressaut doit encore \u00eatre surmont\u00e9 pour d\u00e9boucher dans un terrain plat au Pr\u00e9 aux Auges.<\/p>

Pour monter au Chasseral, il faut alors suivre le fond d\u2019un petit vallon d\u00e9bouchant sur la route, pr\u00e8s de la M\u00e9tairie de Saint-Jean. On traverse alors deux fois la route pour suivre un sentier, un peu raboteux, prenant en \u00e9charpe toute la pente pour rejoindre la cr\u00eate tout pr\u00e8s de l\u2019H\u00f4tel du Chasseral. Il suffit alors de suivre le bon kilom\u00e8tre de route pour atteindre le sommet. Le signal g\u00e9od\u00e9sique signalant le sommet se trouve juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la grande tour de t\u00e9l\u00e9communication.<\/p>

Pour le retour, nous avions opt\u00e9 de passer pr\u00e8s du Petit Chasseral et de la M\u00e9tairie de Morat pour descendre le monotone vallon donnant sur le Pr\u00e9 aux Auges. De l\u00e0, un sentier traversant la pente en l\u00e9g\u00e8re mont\u00e9e, permet d\u2019atteindre les p\u00e2turages se trouvant au-dessus de la M\u00e9tairie des Pl\u00e2nes. A cet endroit, il vaut la peine de prendre un petit sentier pour atteindre la Corne. Cet endroit, promontoire rocheux se trouvant en face du Mont Soleil, offre une magnifique vue sur cette partie du Vallon de Saint-Imier.<\/p>
