Die Aare zw\u00e4ngt sich vor der Stadt Olten durch eine erste Jurah\u00fcgelkette. Auf der Karte sieht es aus wie eine Klause. Auf der linken Seite des Engpasses liegt der Born und auf der rechten Seite der Engelberg. Diese erste H\u00fcgelkette hat eine steile Felswand, die \u00fcber die Aare und die Stadt Aarburg ragt.<\/p>

Es gibt einige Routen, die auf den Born f\u00fchren, darunter der ber\u00fchmte 1000er-Treppenweg (1100 Treppen genau genommen). Dieser 1000er-Treppenweg ist eigentlich ein Relikt aus der Zeit, als eine Druckleitung vom Born hinunter nach Ruppoldingen f\u00fchrte, um dort ein Kraftwerk zu speisen. Die Leitung musste regelm\u00e4ssig inspiziert werden.<\/p>

Hier sind wir den Weg hinauf von Aarburg aus gegangen, weil der 1000er-Treppenweg direkt \u00fcber der Autobahn liegt und man dort entsprechend viel L\u00e4rm hat. Hier \u00fcberquerten wir die Aare und stiegen steil hinauf zum H\u00f6fli. Der Weg f\u00fchrt dann durch den Wald und erreicht den Fuss der Felswand. Ein kleiner, mit Stufen versehener Pfad f\u00fchrt durch die Felsen hindurch und auf die Hochebene.<\/p>

Von dort aus sind wir dem markierten Weg hinunter nach Olten gefolgt. Der Weg ist nicht allzu steil und man hat einen Blick auf die Aare und die Siedlungen zwischen Aarburg und Olten.<\/p>

In Olten wird man auf dem markierten Weg \u00fcber eine Br\u00fccke \u00fcber die Aare gef\u00fchrt. Es ist jedoch viel interessanter, entlang des Flusses zu gehen und das Schwimmbad zu umrunden. Nach dem \u00dcberqueren der D\u00fcnnern kann man durch die Altstadt von Olten gehen und die sch\u00f6ne Holzbr\u00fccke \u00fcberqueren. So kommt man an der Bronzestatue des K\u00f6nigs von Olten, einer Katze, vorbei. Die Katze, die im Namen von Toulouse, nicht nach der Stadt im S\u00fcdwesten Frankreichs, sondern nach dem Schweizerdeutschen „Du Luuser“ (Du Schlaumeier) benannt wurde, hatte die Angewohnheit, durch die Altstadt und die dortigen Lokale zu streifen. Der Schriftsteller Alex Capus hat die Katze weit \u00fcber die Grenzen Olten hinaus bekannt gemacht.<\/p>
