This route starts in Langenthal and ends at the Br\u00fcnig, passing through the Napf region. It follows the cantonal border between Bern and Lucerne more or less faithfully. Even though, for this stage as described on the Switzerland Mobility website, one starts in Trubschachen, which is in the canton of Bern, and ends up in Marbach, which is in the canton of Lucerne. This means that the cantonal border is not followed faithfully. As for the cantonal border between the Emmental and the Entlebuch, it is interesting to note that, starting from the Napf, the border follows a very complex line, either along the crests or along the valley floors. However. from the Wachthubel, the border continues as a succession of straight lines. Because of the constant disputes between the people of the Emmental and the Entlebuch, the cantonal authorities decided to settle the matter once and for all by sending emissaries to determine the border. It is said that, when they arrived at the Wachthubel, they were so fed up with the endless discussions about a few meters to the left or to the right that they decided to set the border in the simplest way possible.<\/p>

We started in Schangnau and first climbed up to Ch\u00fcng and then to the top of the Wachthubel. This small peak is well named (Wachthubel meaning the watch hill), as the view from there is very extensive. From this point, the border is followed more or less faithfully. A little further on, it is worth leaving the route proposed by Switzerland Mobility to go up to the R\u00e4misgummehoger, as the view from there is magnificent.<\/p>

As you descend from the R\u00e4misgummehoger, you pass by beautiful farms, such as Ober Hauenen and Unter Bergen. From this farm, the path descends steeply towards Trubschachen. Once you reach the Ilfis bank, you must go back a little to cross a footbridge that allows you to change bank and reach the Trubschachen station. It is not surprising that there are so many people on the platforms, as the biscuit factory Kambly is not far away, and many people come by train to visit the factory shop.<\/p>
