<\/p>

We had been wanting to go for a hike in the Jolimont area for some time. This hill is very distinctive from the surrounding hills, including the Vully. However, there are no long-distance hiking trails on this hill, although there are several marked trails. We decided to cross the Jolimont hill from Ins to the Landeron train station.<\/p>

The marked trail from the Ins train station first goes through the village and then across fields to the forest near Schalterain. You walk through fields and woods and then down through the woods to the Hasenburg Ruin. This ruin, which is almost completely gone, as the stones were used to build the surrounding villages, is located on a large feudal mound. The large size of this ruin makes it one of the largest in Switzerland. It is not known when this castle was abandoned, but the von Fenis family, who owned it, died out in the 13th century.<\/p>

After passing the Hasenburg Ruin, we crossed the plain between Schalterain and Jolimont. We walked through fields along farm paths to reach the group of houses of Mullen. From there we went to Tschugg to follow a trail that climbs quite steeply through the woods to the top of Jolimont. On the other side, before descending, you pass by an unusual group of granite boulders from the Val de Bagnes: the T\u00fcfelsburdi (the Devil\u2019s Burden). This place is considered a place of power.<\/p>

After descending, you find yourself on the plain crossed by the Thielle and where the very beautiful village of Landeron is located. The only unpleasant aspect is that you must follow the quite busy road from Erlach to Landeron.<\/p>
