Wir waren schon lange von der tiefen Schlucht des Mehlbachs angezogen, die zum Alpnachersee, einem Teil des Vierwaldst\u00e4ttersees, hinabreicht. Wenn man mit dem Auto oder Bus durch Ennetmoos f\u00e4hrt, kann man diese Schlucht nicht verfehlen. Deshalb haben wir uns an diesem Tag dazu entschlossen, von Stans nach Alpnachstad zu wandern. Dies war auch deshalb eine gute Wahl, weil es oben noch Schnee hatte und wir deshalb keine alpinen Wanderungen h\u00e4tten unternehmen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>

Von Stans aus geht es zuerst \u00fcber der Stanserhorn Bahn, der einzige Rest der drei Standseilbahnen, die bis Ende der 60er Jahre auf den Touristenberg f\u00fchrten. Im Oktober 1970 brannte das Hotel auf dem Gipfel und die dritte Sektion der Bahnlinie wurde zerst\u00f6rt. 1975 wurden die beiden oberen Sektionen der Standseilbahn durch eine Luftseilbahn ersetzt.<\/p>

Der weitere Weg f\u00fchrt oberhalb des Kantonsspitals von Stans und \u00fcberquert die stark befahrene Strasse nach Kerns. Wir sind dann \u00fcber den markierten Weg um den Rotzberg herumgewandert, um die Schlucht hinaufzugehen. Nach dem Verlassen der Schlucht sind wir ein St\u00fcck bergauf gestiegen, um \u00fcber die Vorder R\u00fcti zu gelangen und den Abstieg \u00fcber den See zu machen. Am Seeufer befindet sich eine kleine Br\u00fccke, die \u00fcber eine Stelle f\u00fchrt, wo die Felswand direkt in den See abf\u00e4llt.<\/p>

Am Alpnachersee angekommen, sind wir durch ein renaturiertes Gebiet gewandert, wo fr\u00fcher eine Kiesgrube war. Nach dem \u00dcberqueren der Sarner Aa mussten wir den Flughafen von Alpnach umgehen und die Kleine Schlieren \u00fcberqueren. Wir sind dann um eine Bootswerft herumgewandert und haben schliesslich den Bahnhof von Alpnachstad erreicht.<\/p>
