<\/p>

Pic Chaussy is an interesting peak in the Vaud Prealps. On the one hand, it is a great viewpoint over the Diablerets and Ormonts region and on the other hand, it is easily reached by a good hiking trail. In addition, Pic Chaussy has returned to a wild state since the cable car leading up to it until the end of the 1980s have been dismantled in the meantime. It is also possible to hike a loop that allows you to avoid having to follow the same route back down. The only downside is that Pic Chaussy is very popular, and it is sometimes difficult to find peace and quiet there.<\/p>

From the Mosses, you first follow the trail leading to the Lioson d\u2019en Bas alp. There, you have two options, depending on which direction you want to hike up to the summit. Either you start by hiking up to Lac Lioson before hiking up to Pic Chaussy or you hike up directly to the Vers les Lacs alp to hike up to the summit and then hike down via Lac Lioson. The latter option is interesting because it allows you to avoid having to hike up to Lac Lioson along the steep and rocky alp trail.<\/p>

From Vers les Lacs, you continue to hike up to a small pass that allows you to cross over towards Lac Lioson. However, instead of hiking directly down to the lake, it is worth climbing the 280 meters of elevation gain to reach the summit.<\/p>

On the way down, you can then hike past Lac Lioson and cool off at the refreshment stand there. On the way down, you then follow the Lioson trail, which is rocky and steep in places, down to Lioson d\u2019en Bas. Luckily, there are a few shortcuts that allow you to avoid some sections.<\/p>
