<\/span><\/p>

Der L\u00f6tschenpass war, wie der Schnidejoch, ein wichtiger \u00dcbergang zwischen dem Wallis und Bern. Historisch gesehen, kann man die Nutzung des L\u00f6tschenpasses zwischen der Vorgeschichte und dem fr\u00fchen Mittelalter ansetzen. Danach, aufgrund von wichtigen Klimaver\u00e4nderungen, wurden diese beiden P\u00e4sse wegen Schnee und Eis schwer passierbar. Dies erkl\u00e4rt, warum, wie am Schnidejoch, sehr alte Gegenst\u00e4nde gefunden wurden, die dort verloren oder zur\u00fcckgelassen wurden.<\/p>

Bis vor kurzem konnte der L\u00f6tschenpass als alpine Bergtour betrachtet werden, da der L\u00f6tschegletscher eine viel gr\u00f6ssere Fl\u00e4che bedeckte. Heute, mit dem R\u00fcckzug des Gletschers, wandert man auf Eis, das mit Felsen bedeckt ist, und hat das Gef\u00fchl, auf einem Ger\u00f6llfeld sich fortzubewegen. Der Umstand, dass der direkte Weg \u00fcber den Gletscher f\u00fchrt, erkl\u00e4rt, warum es einen anderen Weg gibt, der direkt von Sch\u00f6nb\u00fcel durch die Wand zur Mor\u00e4ne des Gletschers f\u00fchrt. Dies ist ein \u00dcberbleibsel eines Projekts zur Verbesserung des L\u00f6tschenpass-Weges aus dem 17. Jahrhundert.<\/p>

Wir waren von Selde aus losgegangen und hatten den markierten Weg benutzt. Als wir die Steigung unterhalb der Gfelalp erreichten, wurde der Weg sehr steil und erst auf der Alp wurde die Steigung etwas geringer. Etwas h\u00f6her erreichten wir das kleine Plateau Sch\u00f6nb\u00fcel und gingen weiter entlang des Weges, der zuerst in Richtung des Fusses der Wand hinauff\u00fchrt und dann unterhalb dieser quert, um den Gletscher zu erreichen. Dabei mussten wir einige Runsen queren, die zu Beginn der Saison, kurz nach dem Abschmelzen des Schnees, schwierig sein k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>

Wir gingen dann \u00fcber den „Gletscher“ und stiegen auf die Mor\u00e4ne hinauf. Wir folgten ihr, bis sie an Felsen endete, und gingen dann entlang des Weges, zuerst nach links und dann nach oben, bis wir einen kleinen, mit Seilen gesicherten Durchgang erreichten, der nach rechts f\u00fchrt. Etwas h\u00f6her \u00fcberquerten wir die letzten Felsen, bevor der Weg deutlich flacher wurde, als wir den Pass erreichten. Interessant ist, dass der Weg nicht den Pass selbst, sondern h\u00f6her seine Ostflanke quert.<\/p>

Auf dem Abstieg sind wir \u00fcber die H\u00e4nge unterhalb des Hockehorns zur Lauchernalp gewandert. Wir haben die Gelegenheit genutzt, um auf den Hockuchriz zu steigen. Von dort hatten wir einen tollen Blick auf das L\u00f6tschental und leider auch auf den Bergsturz von Blatten.<\/p>
