<\/span><\/p>

Der Talboden des oberen Simmetals zeigt die f\u00fcr viele Bergt\u00e4ler typische Eigenschaft: einen flachen Talboden. Dieser entstand dadurch, dass das Tal im Laufe der Zeit mit Schutt aufgef\u00fcllt wurde. Erst wenn man den Talschluss erreicht, \u00e4ndert sich das Landschaftsbild v\u00f6llig. Man steht dann vor einem recht grossen Gel\u00e4ndesprung. \u00dcber einen solchen Sprung befinden sich die Simmef\u00e4lle (Simmef\u00e4ll). Die heutigen F\u00e4lle sind das Resultat von Korrekturen des17. Jahrhunderts, die das Ziel hatten, die Hochwassergefahr zu verringern. Bei diesen Umbauten wurde der Fels so bearbeitet, dass der Bach einen anderen Verlauf bekam als urspr\u00fcnglich.<\/p>

Vom Talende aus sind zwei Wanderwege m\u00f6glich. Es empfiehlt sich jedoch, den Weg zu w\u00e4hlen, der dem Wasserfall am n\u00e4chsten liegt. Man wird dann stellenweise von starken Gischt B\u00f6en getroffen. Weiter oben, bei der Barbarabr\u00fccke, wird man ordentlich durchn\u00e4sst. Nach der Br\u00fccke trifft man wieder auf den anderen Weg, der dann eine recht steile Strasse folgt. Nach dem Erreichen einer wesentlich flacher werdenden Zone erreicht man bald die Alpwirtschaft Rezlisb\u00e4rgli. Dort lohnt es sich, die Sibe Br\u00fcnne (die sieben Quellen) zu besuchen, wo das Wasser direkt aus dem Felsen herausfliesst.<\/p>

Nach diesem Punkt folgt man noch eine Weile einer flachen Mulde, bevor es dann steil aufw\u00e4rts in Richtung Langermatte geht. Dieser Ort, wo sich ebenfalls eine Alpwirtschaft befindet, liegt auf einem H\u00fcgel, der vom Firstli, einer steilen Felsrippe, \u00fcberragt wird, die fr\u00fcher von einer Variante des Col du Rawyl begangen wurde.<\/p>

Von dort aus geht es dann weiter in Richtung Iffigbach, um die Iffigenalp zu erreichen. Der Abstieg von Langermatte ist stellenweise steil, aber der Weg ist gut, und man verliert schnell an H\u00f6he. Die Iffigenalp liegt an der Kreuzung der Wege, die einerseits zum Rawylpass und andererseits zum Schnidejoch f\u00fchren, einer M\u00f6glichkeit, um die Bergkette zu \u00fcberqueren.<\/p>
