From the bottom of the valley towards Saanen, it seems that the valley continues in the direction of Zweisimmen. This can be seen in the morphology of the terrain. However, from a hydrological point of view, it is a different valley. From Saanen flows the Saane and through the valley leading to Zweisimmen flows the Kleine Simme, so there are two distinct rivers. The morphology of the terrain makes it pleasant to walk from Saanen to Zweisimmen, as there are only a few changes in the terrain. However, the presence of the road and the railway line means that the environment is relatively noisy.<\/p>

The entire hike described here takes place on good trails, except in the villages where you must follow the roads, and between Saanenm\u00f6ser and Oeschseite where you follow a small, asphalted road. For this reason, from Oeschseite it is worth following the trail along the Kleine Simme, even if it is a slight detour. You then follow the river valley along a good trail where the presence of the river brings a pleasant coolness. After passing the shooting range and the swimming pool, you soon arrive at the Zweisimmen station, which is where the tracks change gauge. Downstream, the gauge is the standard 1m435 and above, there is a narrow-gauge network at 1m. Recently, a device has been installed to change the gauge of the wheels to allow Golden Express to continue its journey.<\/p>
