Der Surenenpass, einen historischer Pass zwischen dem Engelberg- und dem Uri-Tal, ist eine Wanderung wert. Auf dem Weg nach oben queren wir durche der sagenhafte Ort der Blackenalp (wo der Stier dem Greiss gegen\u00fcbergestanden hatte). Beim Abstieg sind verschiedene Varianten m\u00f6glich. Die \u00fcber die Waldnacht folgt dem historischen Saumpfad. F\u00fcr die Aussicht lohnt es sich jedoch, dem Grat zu folgen.
Um nach Attinghausen hinunterzufahren, kann man die Seilbahn nehmen, um die Knie zu schonen. Es ist entspannender, aber dann vermisst man den herrlichen Abschnitt der Mettlen-Hohlstra\u00dfe.
PS: Der Arch\u00e4ologe (und Reisende) Raoul-Rochette hatte ausserdem diesen Pass \u00fcberquert, den er damals Col de Suresne (sic) genannt hatte.
