Comme il n\u2019y avait que peu de neige et que les pr\u00e9visions m\u00e9t\u00e9o n\u2019\u00e9taient pas trop mauvaises, j\u2019ai entrepris d\u2019effectuer une grande classique maintes et maintes fois r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e. Il s\u2019agit de la descente des gorges de l\u2019Aa d\u2019Engelberg. Malgr\u00e9 le fait que j\u2019avais entrepris r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement cette randonn\u00e9e, le plaisir est toujours le m\u00eame \u00e0 chaque r\u00e9p\u00e9tition.<\/p>

Ces gorges ont \u00e9t\u00e9 passablement chamboul\u00e9es depuis le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000 et le trac\u00e9 que j\u2019avais l\u2019habitude de suivre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ces ann\u00e9es a d\u00fb \u00eatre compl\u00e8tement modifi\u00e9. En effet, en ao\u00fbt 2005 se sont produites \u00e0 travers la Suisse des inondations m\u00e9morables. Certaines r\u00e9gions ont vu leur paysage \u00eatre modifi\u00e9 par la force de l\u2019eau. C\u2019\u00e9tait \u00e9galement le cas d\u2019Engelberg, qui avait, lors de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, \u00e9t\u00e9 coup\u00e9e pendant plusieurs semaines avant qu\u2019une solution temporaire n\u2019ait \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en place. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en 2007 que la circulation avait \u00e9t\u00e9 pu \u00eatre r\u00e9tablie selon le trac\u00e9 initial pour la route et pour le train.<\/p>

Si la route et le train avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 remis rapidement en \u00e9tat, il a fallu attendre encore quelques ann\u00e9es avant que le sentier qui parcourait le fond de la gorge ne soit r\u00e9tabli. En effet, le terrain avait \u00e9t\u00e9 tellement modifi\u00e9 par la crue qu\u2019il n\u2019\u00e9tait plus possible de r\u00e9tablir le sentier selon le trac\u00e9 originel.<\/p>

Auparavant, et ce depuis le milieu des ann\u00e9es 1970, le sentier changeait trois fois de rive avant d\u2019atteindre Obermatt\u00a0: une premi\u00e8re fois juste avant le d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 de l\u2019Arnibach, une seconde fois juste apr\u00e8s celui-ci et une troisi\u00e8me fois sur le large pont en pierre juste avant Obermatt. Aujourd\u2019hui, ce ne sont pas moins de huit changements de rive qui sont n\u00e9cessaires. Pour certaines travers\u00e9es des passerelles suspendues ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construites suffisamment hautes pour que de nouvelles crues ne d\u00e9truisent pas \u00e0 nouveau ces ouvrages. Cela a n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 la construction de solides ancrages dans un terrain difficile.<\/p>

\u00c7\u00e0 et l\u00e0 on aper\u00e7oit encore sur l\u2019autre rive des sections de l\u2019ancien sentier. Mais de longs bouts ont totalement disparus, \u00e9rod\u00e9s par les coups de boutoir de l\u2019eau. Un endroit a \u00e9t\u00e9 cependant pr\u00e9serv\u00e9\u00a0: le trou perc\u00e9 \u00e0 travers une pointe de rocher que traverse le sentier.<\/p>

Une chose a bien chang\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 mes souvenirs\u00a0: la pr\u00e9sence de places de pique-nique o\u00f9 l\u2019on a \u00e0 disposition le mat\u00e9riel pour pouvoir griller des saucisses. Une autre diff\u00e9rence importante existe \u00e9galement qui est la disparition de la halte d\u2019Obermatt. En effet, jusqu\u2019en d\u00e9cembre 2010, il \u00e9tait possible de monter dans le train \u00e0 cet endroit pour retourner \u00e0 Engelberg. L\u2019arr\u00eat du train \u00e9tait rendu obligatoire par le croisement des convois. Depuis la mise en service du tunnel, la ligne ext\u00e9rieure a compl\u00e8tement disparu, ainsi que les arr\u00eats d\u2019Obermatt et de Gr\u00fcenewald. Cela oblige alors, lorsque l\u2019on veut retourner \u00e0 Engelberg, \u00e0 pousser jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat de Grafenort, rallongeant la randonn\u00e9e d\u2019une petite heure.<\/p>

Une nouveaut\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 introduite r\u00e9cemment \u00e0 la halte de Grafenort\u00a0: l\u2019arr\u00eat est d\u00e9sormais sur demande et il ne faut pas oublier d\u2019appuyer sur le bouton correspondant si l\u2019on souhaite que le train s\u2019arr\u00eate.<\/p>
