<\/p>

Da es nur wenig Schnee gab und die Wetterprognosen nicht allzu schlecht waren, wanderte ich einen immer wieder wiederholten Klassiker. Es handelt sich um den Abstieg durch die Engelberger Aa-Schlucht. Obwohl ich diese Wanderung schon regelm\u00e4ssig gemacht hatte, ist der Spass jedes Mal immer gleich.<\/p>

Diese Schlucht ist seit Anfang der 2000er-Jahre ziemlich aufger\u00fcttelt worden, und die Streckenf\u00fchrung, die ich bis dahin verfolgte, musste komplett ver\u00e4ndert werden. Denn im August 2005 kam es in der Schweiz zu denkw\u00fcrdigen \u00dcberschwemmungen. In einigen Regionen wurde die Landschaft durch die Gewalt des Wassers ver\u00e4ndert. Das war auch bei Engelberg der Fall, das bei diesem Ereignis wochenlang abgeschnitten war, bevor eine \u00dcbergangsl\u00f6sung eingef\u00fchrt wurde. Erst 2007 konnte der Verkehr wieder auf die urspr\u00fcngliche Trasse f\u00fcr die Strasse und den Zug zur\u00fcckgef\u00fchrt werden.<\/p>

Obwohl Strasse und Zug rasch wieder instandgesetzt wurden, dauerte es noch einige Jahre, bis der Weg durch die Schlucht wieder hergestellt werden konnte. Das Gel\u00e4nde wurde durch das Hochwasser derart ver\u00e4ndert, dass es nicht mehr m\u00f6glich war, den Weg nach der urspr\u00fcnglichen Trasse wieder herzustellen.<\/p>

Vorher, seit Mitte der 1970er Jahre, wechselte der Weg bis Obermatt dreimal das Ufer: ein erstes Mal kurz vor der Arnibach-M\u00fcndung, ein zweites Mal kurz danach und ein drittes Mal \u00fcber die grosse Steinbr\u00fccke kurz vor Obermatt. Heute sind nicht weniger als acht Uferwechsel n\u00f6tig. F\u00fcr einige \u00dcberquerungen wurden H\u00e4ngebr\u00fccke gebaut, die hoch genug sind, damit neue \u00dcberschwemmungen diese Bauwerke nicht erneut zerst\u00f6ren. Dies erforderte den Bau starker Verankerungen in schwierigem Gel\u00e4nde.<\/p>

Hier und da sieht man am anderen Ufer noch Teile des alten Weges. L\u00e4ngere Abschnitte sind jedoch v\u00f6llig verschwunden und wurden durch die St\u00f6sse des Wassers abgetragen. Eine Stelle ist jedoch erhalten geblieben: das Loch, das durch eine Felsspitze gebohrt wurde, die der Weg durchquert.<\/p>

Verglichen mit meinen Erinnerungen hat sich eines stark ver\u00e4ndert: Es gibt Picknickpl\u00e4tze, auf denen man Ausr\u00fcstung hat, um W\u00fcrstchen braten zu k\u00f6nnen. Ein weiterer wichtiger Unterschied ist, dass die Haltestelle Obermatt weggefallen ist. Denn bis Dezember 2010 konnte man an dieser Stelle in den Zug zur\u00fcck nach Engelberg einsteigen. Durch die Kreuzung der Zugverbindungen war das Anhalten des Zuges zwingend vorgeschrieben. Mit der Inbetriebnahme des Tunnels ist die Aussenstrecke komplett weggefallen, ebenso die Haltestellen Obermatt und Gr\u00fcenewald. Das zwingt dann, wenn man nach Engelberg zur\u00fcckwill, bis zur Haltestelle Grafenort weiterzugehen und die Wanderung, um eine kleine Stunde zu verl\u00e4ngern.<\/p>

Eine Neuerung wurde k\u00fcrzlich an der Haltestelle Grafenort eingef\u00fchrt: Die Haltestelle erfolgt jetzt auf Anfrage und man darf nicht vergessen, den entsprechenden Knopf zu dr\u00fccken, wenn der Zug anhalten soll.<\/p>
