J\u2019ai \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de souvenirs de Macolin, y ayant pass\u00e9 passablement de temps dans ma jeunesse dans le cadre de camps d\u2019entra\u00eenement. J\u2019ai \u00e9galement gard\u00e9 quelques souvenirs de la Hohmatt, ferme transform\u00e9e, comme c\u2019est souvent le cas dans la r\u00e9gion, en restaurant. Une seule fois, j\u2019avais travers\u00e9 par les hauts mais j\u2019\u00e9tais alors descendu les gorges de Douanne pour prendre le bateau et revenir \u00e0 Bienne.<\/p>

Les ann\u00e9es ayant pass\u00e9e, je me suis dit que cela serait amusant de refaire, ne serait-ce qu\u2019un bout, de la randonn\u00e9e effectu\u00e9e alors. Ici, j\u2019avais d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de descendre \u00e0 pied \u00e0 la Neuveville. Ce faisant, j\u2019avais la possibilit\u00e9, si la m\u00e9t\u00e9o devait devenir ex\u00e9crable, de prendre le funiculaire de Pr\u00eales.<\/p>

Rejoindre Macolin est tr\u00e8s simple\u00a0: il suffit d\u2019emprunter le funiculaire qui part depuis Bienne. Pour rejoindre la station de d\u00e9part, on a le choix de s\u2019y rendre \u00e0 pied ou de prendre le bus. L\u2019un dans l\u2019autre, si on tient compte du temps que l\u2019on passe \u00e0 attendre le bus, le temps n\u00e9cessaire pour rejoindre la station de d\u00e9part est peu ou prou le m\u00eame. Tout d\u00e9pend si on a envie de marcher ou pas. Ici, au vu de la randonn\u00e9e qui m\u2019attendait, j\u2019avais opt\u00e9 pour le bus.<\/p>

A l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du funiculaire, on commence par passer derri\u00e8re les b\u00e2timents administratifs du Centre National de Sport pour emprunter un chemin p\u00e9destre goudronn\u00e9. Ce chemin rejoint l\u2019ancienne salle de sport. Depuis celle-ci, on peut suivre la route d\u00e9crivant un lacet pour rejoindre la Hohmatt (c\u2019est celle-ci que nous suivions lorsque nous nous rendions \u00e0 ce restaurant de nuit). Mais il est pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable de suivre le sentier balis\u00e9 traversant la for\u00eat et rejoignant la route un peu plus haut. Apr\u00e8s la Hohmatt, il s\u2019agit de monter encore un peu pour atteindre la Waldhaus, appartenant \u00e9galement au Centre National de Sport. Cet endroit est le point culminant de toute la randonn\u00e9e.<\/p>

Apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 une succession de for\u00eats et de p\u00e2turages, on arrive en vue de Lamboing et c\u2019est \u00e0 cet endroit que l\u2019on plonge en direction du vallon du Twannbach. La descente s\u2019effectue le long d\u2019un magnifique chemin pav\u00e9. Arriv\u00e9 au fond du vallon, pr\u00e8s d\u2019anciens moulins, il faut alors traverser le ruisseau et remonter les pentes en face afin de rejoindre la for\u00eat pr\u00e8s de Pr\u00eales.<\/p>

Dans le village de Pr\u00eales, on a la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019emprunter le funiculaire descendant \u00e0 L\u00e9geresse. Cela peut \u00eatre une variante int\u00e9ressante si l\u2019on devait \u00eatre trop fatigu\u00e9. Dans mon cas, j\u2019avais poursuivi en montant en direction d\u2019un petit col pr\u00e8s du P\u00e2turage du Haut. A partir de l\u00e0, on ne fait que descendre en direction de la Neuveville. Ce faisant, on passe non loin de la fontaine de Velou, un grand bassin qui se rempli \u00e0 partir d\u2019une source. On passe derri\u00e8re l\u2019Envers de Ch\u00e2tillon (y avait-il un ancien oppidum \u00e0 cet endroit\u00a0? Le nom le laisserait penser) et pr\u00e8s du Gibet.<\/p>

Apr\u00e8s la longue descente, on ne tarde pas \u00e0 arriver dans la bourgade de la Neuveville par l\u2019ancien Faubourg et la Tour Rouge. Pour rejoindre la gare, on traverse alors la magnifique vieille ville pour ressortir par la Tour de Rive.<\/p>
