<\/p>

La cha\u00eene du Jura, vers le bas du Vallon de Saint-Imier, pr\u00e9sente une morphologie assez complexe. En effet, la Suze qui, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Sombeval coulait de mani\u00e8re assez rectiligne, franchit deux cluses avant de d\u00e9boucher \u00e0 Boujean. Il en r\u00e9sulte que les premiers contreforts du Jura dominant le Plateau Suisse ne pr\u00e9sentent pas forc\u00e9ment les meilleurs points de vue sur les Alpes. Contrairement \u00e0 la petite cha\u00eene longeant la Vall\u00e9e de Tavanne. En effet, depuis Montoz et de la Werdtberg, on a une belle vue sur le plateau et la suite de la cha\u00eene du Jura.<\/p>

Depuis\u00a0la gare de Malleray, nous nous sommes d\u2019abord rendus \u00e0 B\u00e9vilard avant d\u2019attaquer la c\u00f4te permettant de gagner la cr\u00eate. Le sentier, assez raide par endroits, suit un bout de route goudronn\u00e9e avant de reprendre son cours \u00e0 travers bois. Lorsque l\u2019on arrive dans les p\u00e2turages, il vaut la peine de se d\u00e9tourner un peu afin de gagner le sommet du Montoz. Bien que partiellement bois\u00e9, la vue depuis ce sommet est bien d\u00e9gag\u00e9e en direction de l\u2019est.<\/p>

En suivant le sentier balis\u00e9 en direction de l\u2019ouest, on ne tarde pas \u00e0 passer devant la M\u00e9tairie de Malleray et de l\u2019auberge du Werdtberg. La vue depuis cet endroit sur le Chasseral est bien d\u00e9gag\u00e9e. Cependant, elle est un peu g\u00e2ch\u00e9e par la pr\u00e9sence de la carri\u00e8re de la Tscharner, utilis\u00e9e par la cimenterie de la Reuchenette.<\/p>

Depuis le Werdtberg, nous \u00e9tions descendus \u00e0 Tavannes en suivant le sentier balis\u00e9. Arriv\u00e9s dans cette localit\u00e9, nous avions \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 la Source de la Birse, au lieu de reprendre le train. Depuis la Source de la Birse, il vaut encore la peine de monter un peu en suivant l\u2019ancienne route du Col de Pierre Pertuis. On passe alors sous l\u2019arche, en partie naturelle, qui a donn\u00e9 son nom au col. Le fronton du portail comporte une inscription romaine, attestant de l\u2019importance du passage \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque d\u00e9j\u00e0.<\/p>

J\u2019ai le souvenir qu\u2019enfant, il y avait souvent des annonces \u00e0 la radio en hiver, enjoignant les automobilistes \u00e0 utiliser des cha\u00eenes \u00e0 neige pour franchir le Col de Pierre Pertuis. Avec le changement climatique et les chutes de neige qui se font plus rare, puis l\u2019ouverture de la Transjurane, on n\u2019en entend plus parler.<\/p>

Dans la descente du Col de Pierre Pertuis, on suit un court moment la voie de chemin de fer qui, apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 le tunnel, descend \u00e0 flanc de coteau pour finalement effectuer un large virage pour revenir \u00e0 la gare de Sonceboz-Sombeval.<\/p>
