<\/p>

This is a popular hike, but we try to vary the route a little each time. The classic route is to start at the T\u00eate-de-Ran and cross over to the Mont Racine along the crest. Another option that is often used is to start at the Sagne and make a traverse.<\/p>

We started at Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane and hiked up through the woods to the Grande Motte. The climb along the forest path is rather monotonous, but the pleasure is all the greater when you reach the pastures. Once you are in the pastures, all you must do is climb straight up to the top.<\/p>

For the descent, we decided to go to the Grandes Pradi\u00e8res to enjoy the view as much as possible. This means that you delay the moment when you cross over to the other side of the crest. Once we reached the paved road, we followed it to the area around the Grande Racine. From this chalet, we followed the Sentier des Statues down to the Sagne Valley. The humidity of the season meant that the trail was very slippery in places.<\/p>

Once we reached the bottom of the slope, all we had to do was cross the valley floor to reach the train station at La Sagne.<\/p>
