That day, we decided to hike from Noirmont to Saint-Imier. We therefore took the train to Noirmont. But before we set off, we had to stop for a coffee at our favourite bakery in the middle of the village.<\/p>

From the village, we followed a part of the Swiss Mobile trail along the Cr\u00eates des Franches-Montagnes. However, we did not want to go as far as the Creux aux Biches. We therefore left the trail to head more directly to the Point de Vue, passing through Cerneux Gonin and Les Preux. After the Point de Vue, the trail descends gently towards Breuleux, which we only pass through the western part of the village. After crossing the road, we followed the marked trail through the P\u00e2turage Communal and up to Les Allevaux.<\/p>

We were then not far from Mont Soleil and only had to climb the last crest to reach the summit. Originally, we had planned to hike down to Saint-Imier, but when we checked the timetable, we realized that the next cable car down from Mont Soleil was leaving in 5 minutes. As we had never taken this cable car, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity. This cable car is quite unusual in that there is only one cabin and no crossing in the middle. This suggests that it is operated by a winch. From the cable car station, following the markings, you can reach Saint-Imier train station while cleverly avoiding the busiest streets.<\/p>
