<\/p>

The Belpberg (literally, the Belp Mountain) is more of a hill than a mountain. It is a hill that lies between the Aare and the G\u00fcrbe. The G\u00fcrbe does not originate in the Alps, but at the foot of the Gantrisch. It joins the Aare further down, at Muri. The Belpberg, on the other hand, offers some beautiful views, due to its isolation.<\/p>

We started in Toffen and followed a stretch of the G\u00fcrbe before crossing the small plain and climbing towards Eggenhorn. Even though we are on the Swiss Plateau and in a relatively flat area, the climbs are very steep in places. At Eggenhorn and Hofstetten, the view opens to the Bernese Alps as well as to the Emmental. Konolfingen can be clearly seen, and the castle of Worb can be glimpsed.<\/p>

The descent to M\u00fcnsingen is as steep as the climb from Toffen. The big difference is that we are in a much noisier world, due to the motorway leading to the Bernese Oberland. To cross M\u00fcnsingen and reach the train station, the marked trail follows a stretch of a lovely stream that winds its way between the houses.<\/p>
