Obwohl ich das Gasteretal gut kenne, war ich im Rahmen von Ausbildungen noch nie bis Selde gekommen. Ich war zwar schon mehrmals von der Gemmi herabgekommen und \u00fcber den spektakul\u00e4ren Gurnigelsattelweg in dieses Tal gekommen, aber nie weiter in das Tal hineingewandert.<\/p>

Hier waren wir nach Selde gekommen, weil wir am n\u00e4chsten Tag den L\u00f6tschepass \u00fcberqueren wollten. Vom Bahnhof Kandersteg aus waren wir der Kander entlang des linken Ufers gefolgt. Auch wenn das einen Umweg bedeutet, ist der Weg entlang des Ufers vorteilhaft, da man nicht durch den Verkehr behindert wird, auch wenn dieser nicht sehr bedeutend ist. Nach den Geb\u00e4uden des internationalen Pfadfinderzentrums f\u00fchrt der markierte Wanderweg weiter entlang des linken Ufers, aber etwas weiter weg vom Bach.<\/p>

In Eggeschwand muss man ein St\u00fcckchen zur\u00fcck nach Kandersteg gehen, um den Aufstieg entlang der Kander zu wandern, die sich bald in einen tosenden Wildbach verwandelt. Die Chluse ist ein beeindruckender Ort, da das Wasser einen ohrenbet\u00e4ubenden L\u00e4rm erzeugt, den man nur an wenigen anderen Orten der Schweizer Alpen findet, da die Str\u00f6me oft umgeleitet werden, um Staud\u00e4mme zu speisen.<\/p>

Nachdem wir die Chluse wieder verlassen hatten, befanden wir uns im Talgrund des Gasteretals. Der Kontrast ist dann sehr gross, da dem L\u00e4rm des tosenden Bachs der leise Pl\u00e4tscher des Wassers folgt, das in einem fast ebenen Bett fliesst. Nachdem wir am Waldhus vorbeigegangen, waren wir durch den Gastereholz entlang des markierten Wanderwegs gewandert. An einer Stelle sieht man den Wanderweg, der zur Balmhornh\u00fctte f\u00fchrt, und man kann sich kaum vorstellen, wie der Wanderweg durch die grossen Felsw\u00e4nde geht. Nur wenige Wanderer, die den Weg gehen, zeigten, wo er durchgeht. Etwas weiter hinten folgten wir einem breiten Wanderweg, der an den Fuss der Wasserf\u00e4lle f\u00fchrt, der vom Balmhorn hinabkommt. Der Ort ist spektakul\u00e4r, aber etwas getr\u00fcbt, da man dort Munitionsreste von Milit\u00e4r\u00fcbungen findet.<\/p>

Nachdem man dreimal das Ufer gewechselt hatte, befindet man sich am Fuss des letzten Aufstiegs nach Selde. Der Wanderweg beschreibt einige Serpentinen und trifft etwas h\u00f6her auf die Strasse. Man folgt dann der Strasse bis nach Selde, wo sich zwei Berggasth\u00e4user befinden.<\/p>
