<\/p>

As it was hot and humid (some thunderstorms were rumbling in the distance), we had thought it might be interesting to go and find some coolness in the Combe du Valanvron. Unfortunately, the temperature was just as high in the gorge.<\/p>

We had left La Chaux-de-Fonds to go through the Combettes and then descend into the Combe du Valanvron, following the marked trail. The descent was quite difficult, as forestry work had been done previously, seriously damaging the trail. We were tripping over branches and stones. It was only further down, when the slope became too steep for the machines, that we found the original trail again.<\/p>

As we had previously walked through the Combe du Valanvron in winter, we had not thought that the trail could be lined with nettles. We therefore had to avoid some areas to avoid getting stung by these plants. Contrary to what we had performed at the beginning of the year, we followed the marked trail to go back to La Ferri\u00e8re. At this point, as the train was about to arrive, we did not have time to go and cool off at La Licorne.<\/p>
